My Mission and Passion for Family Communication Coaching scroll

“The conflict I grew up with, terrified me. I tried in vain to avoid it. By trial and error, I explored conflict and strengthened my relationships.” ~ Wendy McDonnell

Conflict isn't what I thought it was. Realistically, conflict and disharmony can still feel dreadful. I learned from years of violence, separation, and mistakes that avoiding pain doesn't make it go away. Instead, when we explore conflict, we paradoxically experience less conflict and strengthen our relationships...not pull them apart.

Inevitably people will have different opinions and perspectives. In the high-stakes world of family conflict, intensity flares. Many of us forget who we are and what's important to us when we're afraid and angry. So, we take positions thinking that's the best way to protect our needs. In my experience, taking positions drives us further apart!

Kids huddle.

“Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people.”
~ Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood

I've seen how win-win paradigms work. When everyone's needs are valued and heard, all people can create compassionate solutions with ease. I invite you to imagine the wonderful possibilities when we know how to effectively communicate our needs and wants. As a neutral person, I can listen when you can't. That's why Family Communication Coaching works.

Don't make the same mistakes I did! My hands-on expertise in transforming my own childhood trauma and violence into trust and compassion allows me to empower others to make profound and healing changes in their own lives. I believe that by sharing my unique blend of training and experience, empathy and communication skills, and a compassionate light-heartedness, I can help create a world I want to live in.

I now support compassionate communication and conflict resolution...one family at a time!

“Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
